My midwifery journey began when I was doing mission work in Haiti. I was drawn to the women and babies and heartbroken to find out what kind of challenges they face. I felt a calling to help them, so I went to nursing school in Nebraska (2006) and got my masters in midwifery in Ohio (2012). I am still involved in missions in Haiti which will always hold a special place in my heart.
Since becoming a midwife, I have had the opportunity to work with families in a variety of settings from low intervention and water births at Seasons Birth Center to hospital births at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton and Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo and now with the Women’s Clinic at Poudre Valley Hospital.
I believe everyone has the right to give birth in a safe and comfortable environment surrounded by love and support. Caring for women across their lifespan and empowering them to live their healthiest lives is a role I really enjoy.
My husband and I have a blended family with 7 kids! Traveling is my favorite hobby along with hiking in the mountains, scrapbooking and belly dancing.
