Abdominal Exercises

Abdominal Lying
Purpose:
Encourages the uterus to return to its normal position
Exercise:
- Lie on stomach with pillows under head, abdomen, and feet
- Rest in this position for at least a half an hour a day and whenever possible
- Arms may rest at your side, or they may be extended above your shoulders, whichever is most comfortable
Abdominal Contractions
Purpose:
Strengthens and tones abdominal muscles
Exercise:
- Sit, stand, or lie on your back in a comfortable position
- Pull in your abdominal muscles and hold them tightly contracted for 5–10 seconds
- Relax and repeat whenever you think of it
- Breathe normally during this exercise
