My passion for midwifery began in high school as my best friend’s mom was a midwife and ran a free standing birth center. I was continually in awe of her stories and I knew I wanted to become a midwife.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University in 2000. While studying abroad, I caught my first baby, and was hooked! After graduation, I worked as a RN in both pediatrics and labor and delivery in Denver and then Chicago, where I went back to school. I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. I began my midwifery career in Chicago and continued on in Louisville, KY, where I had the opportunity of practicing in both the home birth and hospital setting. I joined the Women’s clinic in 2018 and am so happy to be back in Colorado!
Simply put, I love what do! Midwifery is a calling for me. I love witnessing the joy and strength that women exude, not only in labor, but in all stages of life and health. Beyond prenatal care and childbirth, I am especially passionate about teen health as well as LGBTQ health concerns.
I have 3 fabulous children and a wonderful husband. In my spare time, I enjoy jewelry making, hiking, gardening and singing.
