I was born in Colorado and while I have lived elsewhere, Colorado has always been home. I graduated from Baylor University and remain a die-hard Baylor fan. I earned my medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where I embraced the osteopathic philosophy of treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I strive to bring this perspective to my clinical and surgical care, always taking time to listen to my patients’ unique concerns and goals. I completed my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. John Providence in Detroit, Michigan, gaining extensive experience in complex surgeries, obstetrics, and gynecologic care.

I feel fortunate to work with patients in a variety of areas within obstetrics and gynecology. I enjoy minimally invasive surgery, complex surgical cases, and presenting patients with a variety of treatment options according to their unique case. I am a firm believer in a woman’s choice for sterilization, regardless of childbearing status.  I am committed to empowering my patients with the knowledge they need to be active participants in their health journey. I practice evidence-based medicine and am board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

When I’m not caring for patients, you will find me outdoors! I love yoga, hiking and skiing, finding balance and renewal in nature. My passion for adventure also extends to traveling to new and unique places, seeking out different cultures and perspectives. In fact, my initial draw to Women’s Health occurred during college while working in a rural hospital in West Africa. My first language was Dutch, a heritage I continue to cherish. Hup Holland Hup! Above all, I enjoy spending quality time with my three daughters and my husband.
