My journey to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife began with a degree in Kinesiology from Indiana University in 2001. Around this same time, a dear friend of mine had her baby at home with a midwife. I was amazed and eager to find out as much as I could about midwives and birth. I immediately began training to become a doula, but realized very quickly that I wanted to do more. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at IUPUI in 2008 and gained seven years of experience as an Emergency Department nurse in south central Indiana. In 2015 I completed my Master of Science in nursing and midwifery at Frontier Nursing University.
From 2015-2018 I worked for a large midwifery practice in Indianapolis, and have had the privilege of welcoming over 145 babies while working with a diverse population of women. I am constantly inspired by the power and grace of the female body as I guide families through the profound and transformative events of birth and parenting. It is an honor to be a resource for clients and help them create the safe, individualized birth experiences they want.
In addition to supporting families through pregnancy and childbirth, I am passionate about helping women feel confident and empowered. By providing complete and accurate information, we can make informed decisions about your care together. I enjoy counseling women on safe sex, family planning, and birth control options. I am a fierce advocate for advancements in global maternal/child health and LGBTQ+ issues, and a strong proponent of healthy diet, exercise, and preventive medicine.
I have been happily married to my husband, Zach, for over 15 years. We have a sweet lab mix named Millie who loves to have her belly rubbed. In my spare time I enjoy knitting, reading, or playing Ultimate Frisbee if I am not traveling or seeing a concert with my husband.
I am thrilled to relocate to Fort Collins to join the team at the Women’s Clinic. I look forward to serving the women and families of this community.
